The package openoffice-spell-pt also doesn't include that

This is the wrong link, I got an error message.
--> O arquivo com a extensão [pt_BR-2700g.zip] não existe.
this means: there is no file with this name.

For brazilian portuguese:
http://www.deso-se.com.br/downloads/download.php?arquivo=pt_BR-2007-04-11

For Portugal portuguese:
http://www.deso-se.com.br/downloads/download.php?arquivo=pt_PT-2007-03-26

For Latin Spanish (Chile)
http://www.deso-se.com.br/downloads/download.php?arquivo=es_CL-663

This file must be unziped at /opt/openoffice/share/dict/ooo

This package is included at the br-office package. There was a problem with the name open-office at Brazil, so the brazilian community uses the name br-office.
The package br-office is full compliant with brazilian portuguese and it is a very important tool for brazilian federal government (also states, cities and a large number of companies). The install process is really easy, just got the package tar.gz and untar it. It is here ftp://www.broffice.org/stable the name is broffice_(version)_(lang).archive.tar.gz

-- i386 packages --

There is packages for brazilian portuguese (without lang at the name) and latin spanish es-VE (Venezuela), es-PY (Paraguay), es-UY (Uruguay), es-CL (Chile) and es-AR (Argentina).

The file dictionary.lst is missing at the standard install.
Without this file there is no spell check.
