Even though it was obvious, I thought I could rid of python-pillow but it's needed for image previews.
Please add the package to the optdepends array.

Hello, I do not reproduce, image previews work perfectly well for me without python-pillow, nor do I see pillow as a dependency in kitty's doc or source code.
