Description:
Installing the devices.conf to /etc/utsushi/utsushi.conf provides a nice way for users to edit a configuration should they need to; However, this sample config forces everyone to have the same unusable network scanner and DS-5500. I ran into issues today trying to use utsushi in the command line (i.e. --no-interface) because it was defaulting to one of these dummy devices. This was solved by commenting out these devices. I propose installing devices.conf to /etc/utsushi/utsushi.conf.sample (or /usr/share/doc/imagescan/utushi.conf) so the sample is still available but does not unnecessarily add devices to users' list. It's worth noting that this does not affect automatically-detected devices and they will still function as expected. |
