Please try a clean user. This looks like a configuration problem.

I'm unable to reproduce the issue. Marcel, could you please try the same, but as a new user on your machine, or on a different machine?

The problem occurs using Fish shell. Using Bash there is no problem.

Starting Julia from Fish works fine here. I'm 99% sure that this is a Fish configuration issue.

Please re-open this issue if there are still problems after trying to start Julia with a fresh Fish configuration (for instance as a new user and/or on a different system or in a virtual machine). There could potentially be configuration in both /etc and ~/.config/fish that causes this.
