Description:

The ocaml package currently installs the bytecode-compiled versions of the OCaml compiler at /usr/bin/ocaml*.byte (/usr/bin/ocamlopt.byte, etc). These provide the same functionality as the native versions at /usr/bin/*.opt (e.g. /usr/bin/ocamlopt.opt, symlinked to /usr/bin/ocamlopt). The ocaml package could be significantly shrunk (by more than 100 MB) by omitting the former executables. Note that I'm not referring to the bytecode compiler (ocamlc, which outputs OCaml bytecode), but the OCaml compiler compiled as bytecode.

Additional info:
* package version(s): ocaml 4.11.1-1
