Description:
I had a critical issue with "mkinitcpio 30-1". After this morning "pacman -Syu", I got the following message logged: > initramfs: unpacking failed: invalid magic at start of compressed archive > Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0) I know the issue was caused by my LTS Kernel update settings, because I was using the release 5.4.89-1-LTS with the configuration in /etc/pacman.conf "IgnorePkg = linux-lts linux-lts-headers". On the other side, I think it should NOT be allowed the update from "mkinitcpio 29-1" to "mkinitcpio 30-1" without satisfying the condition "KERNEL Version >= 5.9". I had the chance to have a second updated KERNEL installed ( linux 5.10.16.arch1-1 ), so I was able to fix the issue quite quickly, ...but can you imagine fixing the issue without a second updated KERNEL? Any questions, please, let me know. Thanks and best regards, Francesco Additional info: * package version(s) * config and/or log files etc. * link to upstream bug report, if any Steps to reproduce: |
