DetailsHello! The package "mkinitcpio" owns the file "/usr/share/libalpm/scripts/mkinitcpio-install", and that file "mkinitcpio-install" uses "sed" (see the content of that file). Therefore, the package "mkinitcpio" should depend on the package "sed". Otherwise, we have bugs like this "initcpio not being generated after kernel upgrade with pacman" https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=252162

Reason for closing: Not a bug
Additional comments about closing: Already a dep of base so you cannot have an Arch system without it.
And the thread you linked says nothing about needing to install sed, only reinstalling the kernel on its own.
