DetailsLibreOffice 7.0.4.2 Writer and Auto Correct doesn't:
1. replace words anymore; 2. doesn't correct words starting with two uppercase letter; 3. it doesn't Replace the letter after a period with an uppercase letter. Steps to reproduce: 1. install libreoffice-still and libreoffice-still-it and try to write "perchè" it doesn't correct it with "perché". 2. Write "COmprare" and it doesn't replace with "Comprare". 3. Write "Essere o non essere. questo è il problema" and it doesn't replace "questo" with "Questo". I removed all the Libreoffice configuration deleting the configuration directory and running again LibreOffice. Same result. If I use the same version on Mac OS it doesn't happen, so this should be an Archlinux issue in some way? I have all the packages updated to the last version. |
This task depends upon

I rebooted with a 5.4.98 kernel-lts I didn't updated and the bug it's still there because, of course, it's not a kernel related issue.
I can apport that in the 5.x versions of Libreoffice this bug is not present. Is in 6.x and above this weird behaviour is presented.
Also, tested in Ubuntu and not, they don't have this issue. I asked in Libreoffice forums and that bug is not present. It's a problem in Arch.
[https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/69848 mentions the same issue.]
Interesting: If some parts of your text are in "Default Paragraph Style" and you select "Tools > AutoCorrect > Apply" maunally, these parts will be autocorrected and changed to another paragraph style (should be normal I think) while the other ones won't be corrected and stay completely the same.
And still "Assigned To" "No-one". With the new release of LibreOffice 7.0.5 ArchLinux package, the bug is still there. Cannot be reverted to LibreOffice 6 if it's not possible to fix in 7.0.x branch? On ManjaroLinux, LibreOffice 7.0.x works, no issue.
