Details

Description:
while helping a friend I found that both on his system and my own doing 'pacman -U linux' fails with the below error

pacman -U linux
loading packages...
error: 'linux': could not find or read package

and we can see that the package is installed

pacman -Ss linux | grep insta
core/linux 5.10.15.arch1-1 [installed]

and i recall it upgrading last pacman -Syu I ran

This belongs on the forums or irc, not the bugtracker. One would use -S to install packages from the repos, not -U.

yes now that you say that I see my problem, my brain wasn't functioning like it needed to be and whatever I found via google had guided me wrong

so looking back at this I would say perhaps suggest the error message returned could use work to better note the nature of the issue
