I have a laptop with ipw3945 wireless and at times when I boot kernel26ck (2.6.20.7) my CPU frequency is always at max and I can't use ipw3945 (no interface).
When I boot, it randomly works or doesn't.

I found one page related to this bug (linux 2.6.20 ans ipw3945 1.2.0)
http://bughost.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1215

Someone suggested to use the patch on this page
http://bughost.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1096

I've just compiled it and I'll try to reboot a couple times to see if the problem occurs again.
Not tested with ARCH kernel (I don't use it much).

OK, just tried the patch and rebooted.
I still have the problem, no wlan0, but it didn't hog my CPU this time (it happens randomly, I don't know if this is solved or not).

There is a new ipw3945 version available which 'might' fix the bug.
