Per  FS#65344 , also reported upstream at, catfish at one time was reported to reliably hang when zeitgeist was installed. As of catfish version 4.16, I can compile catfish and run it just fine with zeitgeist installed. I specifically tested the "catfish -v --start /home/user/ vlc" command referenced in the previous bug reports, and I encountered no problems. I would like to respectfully suggest that the conflict with zeitgeist may now be removed.
