Details

gnome-shell on wayland crashes while the system gets upgraded
this is the 3rd time this happened but i only switched to wayland again recently
it’s at least not reproducible by simply installing the upgraded packages again

it appears that it crashes on X.Org as well but it successfully restarts itself there (and i also remember this happened already before i switched to wayland)

and it’s not on _every_ system update but approximately every other…

i’m guessing it’s related to one of the post_install hooks

Same happens to me. gnome-shell dumps core and then restarts itself.

for the most recent one it crashed twice during the same system upgrade for me, and before the pacman hooks

For me the shell crashes whenever I try to play a youtube video in firefox / chromium / brave. Sometimes the entire system freezes. More here : https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/70368, https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/15192
