DetailsArchLinux currently doesn't utilize the Systemd Notify feature.
With that feature applications can let systemd know about there internal state e.g. if they are able to accept connections or not. It therefore also aids in preventing timing issues where dependent services get started before openssh is truly ready. Most other linux distributions have this feature. Debian and therefore also ubuntu habe it: https://salsa.debian.org/ssh-team/openssh/-/blob/master/configure.ac#L4782 OpenSUSUE also has it: https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/network/openssh/openssh-7.7p1-systemd-notify.patch?expand=0 I'd like to suggest adding this functionality also to the archlinux package of openssh. |

Reason for closing: Upstream
Additional comments about closing: We will not add downstream patches for new features, just because Debian did it. Speak to the openssh-portable team about this.
