Details
Description:
After upgrading kernel, a screen tearing is again visible when using proprietary drivers and modesetting. This bug came and went many times previously. Last working kernel version for me was 5.9.11. Together with newest Nvidia 455.45.01 (but repacked `nvidia-455.45.01-4` for older directory names). There is nothing odd in system logs, modesetting should be loaded: `kernel: nvidia-modeset: Loading NVIDIA Kernel Mode Setting Driver for UNIX platforms 455.45.01 Thu Nov 5 22:55:44 UTC 2020` Reproduce by doing full system upgrade and then downgrading kernel and dependencies: `linux-5.9.11.arch2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst` `linux-firmware-20201120.bc9cd0b-1-any.pkg.tar.zst` `linux-headers-5.9.11.arch2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst` `nvidia-455.45.01-4-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst` |
