Description:
On a dell XPS 3900, with an external display attached via usb-C docking station (Vako) or thunderbolt (Dell TB16), the computer fails to change resolution or screen layout while in gnome.
That is, I can always get to the log-in screen, but if I then log in to an account that has only one display activated in the preferences, the screens remain black and I have to force off the computer. If it's a user account that has both displays enabled, it works fine until I lock the screen or disable one of the monitors.

Reverting to 5.10.3 or 5.9.14 fixes the issue.
