Details
dnsmasq 2.3 does not parse /etc/ethers files properly.
As a result, one will tear ones hair out for hours trying to figure out what configuration items you have wrong that are causing machines with fixed addresses to get ones from the dynamic pool, when in fact the answer is that none of them is wrong. This can be easily fixed by simply upgrading to the newest version (2.6) of dnsmasq. Check the attachments section for the modified PKGBUILD. All I had to do is up the version number and change the md5sum. As maintainer, it seems as though Eric Johnson <eric@archlinux.org> is the man for the job. Otherwise, I should say that dnsmasq rocks! Lightweight is your friend in the world of (simple) DNS. - P |
