Description:
flac -t (i.e. integrity testing on flac files) fails on some files. All have their md5 checksum starting with 00. https://bugs.gentoo.org/719792 has the full story. https://sourceforge.net/p/flac/bugs/478/ has the patch. I have a very large collection of flac files, and quite a few fails with these symptoms. They have passed this test years ago. I have sha1sum on them separately, which I generated after they passed flac -t tests. They are okay. So I know I have not suffered bit-rot. If I apply the patch above, the issue goes away. I have tested it. The exact patch I applied on PKGBUILD is attached. Please apply it to ABS. Additional info: * package version(s) flac 1.3.3-2 * config and/or log files etc. * link to upstream bug report, if any https://bugs.gentoo.org/719792 Steps to reproduce: I cannot upload any such files due to copyright. Yet, if I shorten it, I cannot guarantee that md5sum would start with 00, which triggers this. However, I have tested the exact patch I have applied, which matches with the https://sourceforge.net/p/flac/bugs/478/ patch everyone quotes on this issue. |

I respectfully ask you to consider this bugfix. We have a tested fix. It does not call for more than 15 mins of your time (and I overestimate). It is outstanding for 5 months now.
I am also chasing for a new flac release on https://github.com/xiph/flac/issues/239 to make it easier, but I am not getting traction there, either.
Thank you for your consideration and your time.

6 months on and this simple patch is not done. -t option do not work for any files whose MD5 starts with 00. I have quite a few of such files. I know you are volunteering, but all help was given. If you were to bother to reply I could even prep a new PKGBUILD update on the latest version, but you do not even reply. Why squatting on this project as a maintainer if you cannot even bother to consider this.
