Description:
Evince (3.38.0) prints the following message on the console when opening *any* PDF file, unless it finds a corresponding .tex file (which is not the case for most PDFs). ! SyncTeX Error : No file? According to [1] this is a bug in libsyntex, with a one-line fix [2]. I no longer experience this issue with evince 40.2-1 and
libsynctex 2021.58686-3.
