Oops reported too fast. It seems to be gimp-ufraw that crashes when opening JPG files. When I deinstall gimp-ufraw, Gimp will open jpegs again. So maybe someone can change the topic of this bugreport?

If you call ufraw directly it errors out with the following message:
ufraw: error while loading shared libraries: libexiv2-0.13.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Seems that a simple rebuild could fix that (btw. I am on 64Bit arch)... tried it myself on current abs tree.
