hi,

linux 5.9 introduced support for soundwire on intel hardware, but it is behind a kernel config option that is currently not enabled.

to enable audio to work out of the box on machines with this hardware, could you please add CONFIG_SND_SOC_SOF_INTEL_SOUNDWIRE=m as well as SND_SOC_INTEL_SOUNDWIRE_SOF_MACH which should enable 15 or so additional modules to be built?

thanks

M

The bug has been correctly closed: those are not in 5.9.

But they are in 5.10. I have just tested 5.10.1 from arch testing: modules are not included => there is no sound on dell xps 17 (i9version).

Should I file new bug or better to reopen this one with some fixes (kernel version)?

Looks like we have CONFIG_SND_SOC_SOF_INTEL_SOUNDWIRE, but not SND_SOC_INTEL_SOUNDWIRE_SOF_MACH

My apologies for the 5.9 confusion. I sent a patch by e-mail to Jan this morning which seems to work for me on the noted hardware
