I have a GPT hard disk that works perfectly with 2.6.19 and 2.6.19-beyond.

However, 2.6.20 won't recognize the partition table.

Strangely enough, parted 1.{7.1,8.x}will neither.

There's one reiserfs partition on it.
This task depends upon

It's an USB disk and seems to get detected correctly.
Parted doesn't find the partitions when I load the old kernel either,
but I can mount them there just fine.

I'm not sure why I would boot with the 0.8 iso, I guess my running ArchLinux will
do just fine...?

Sorry, I can't help you with this one anymore; I converted the disk to have an msdos label.
Best to close this and hope it doesn't come up again for someone.
