Description:

Hi,
I used to be able to record the mic from my webcam but since the last update it does not work anymore.
I've list the audio inputs using arecord -L and the logitech microphone is not there anymore.

lsusb > Bus 001 Device 013: ID 046d:082d Logitech, Inc. HD Pro Webcam C920

uname -a > Linux knot 5.9.11-zen2-1-zen #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT Sat, 28 Nov 2020 02:08:52 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I also have the latest packages including pipewire and pipewire-pulse but I think it is unrelated to pipewire, through it happened at the same time.

Cheers,
Alex

I just tried again using gnome, and gnome could find the microphone from the sound configuration.
Usually I use Openbox.
Did gnome do something special?

And I confirm that it works well.
Maybe it is a pipewire configuration issue?

Probably GNOME starts the pipewire unit or GNOME SETTINGS DAEMON is able to configure it.
Anyway, since this is not an issue itself but a configuration problem, I suggest you to close here and ask on the forum, the right place where talk.
