Details
Description:
Systemd 247.1 breaks GDM, on both Xorg and Wayland configurations, and GDM is unable to any input (keyboard/mouse) while systemd 247.1 is installed. Additional info: Systemd 247.1 with GDM 3.38.1 or 3.38.2 (haven't tested other versions besides these but these are the two latest versions) In the case this might be possibly related to GPU issues (unlikely, but you never know with greeters/DEs), I am using AMDGPU If you boot straight into gnome-shell from another greeter such as lightdm, gnome-shell works just fine on both 3.38.1 and 3.38.2 Downgrading to systemd 246.6 fixes the bug Steps to reproduce: Install systemd 247.1 and GDM/gnome Boot into GDM or start GDM from systemd Unable to use keyboard/mouse once it starts |

Reason for closing: Fixed
Additional comments about closing: Old and stale. Assuming no longer an issue. It sounds like it was a transient thing anyway.
