After upgrading to gnome 2.6 I decided to play a flac file
in rhythmbox, but both rhythmbox and nautilus only
recognized flac files as application/octet-stream and
refused to play them. audio/x-flac and application/x-flac
appear to be present and correct in the gnome-vfs mime data,
but do not exist in the shared mime info database.
This can be 'fixed' by adding flac to the shared mime info database (using a tool such as mime-editor and update-mime-database). Why does gnome seem to ignore the gnome-vfs info? |
