I have a HP Pavillion dv6000t laptop and I noticed Arch doesn't have a good acpi support, speacially in these models. Currently I can only use some multimedia keys (and only a few fn keys work) and xev doesnt display any keycode for those that aren working.
I found out that Ubuntu Feisty has a package called acpi-support that makes these keys work just fine!
So is it possible for Arch to adopt acpi-support so at least the brightness fn keys work (since these are a major feature of the laptop)?
I'm kinda new so I'm not aware if what I'm asking is doable or not, thank you for your time.

I also don't know much but I know they have something that makes it work. Here's a list of the scripts the package contains: http://packages.ubuntu.com/cgi-bin/search_contents.pl?searchmode=filelist&word=acpi-support&version=dapper&arch=i386&page=1&number=50

maybe it's their Hewlett-Packard.config (in that package).

these are scripts for acpid

I thought only *.sh were scripts but still Arch lacks acpi event handlers, it has absolutly none and I think it should have some (but that's not the point of this request).
I read on the Arch foruns something about a kernel patch to make multimedia keys from a toshiba laptop work so maybe what ubuntu has its a kernel patch that makes it work (that is, if acpi support really is useless to that, I honestly don't know this), I have tried to google it to find out what patch is but I couldn't find anything.
I'm sorry I'm not being helpful with the info but I don't know much, thank you for your time.
