When adding this from the AUR to the the official repos, the pkgrel was not bumped to ensure users upgraded to the canonical version. Hence you still have the AUR package, which contained a libusbx dependency, and pacman never prompted you to reinstall/upgrade.

A simple no-op rebuild will ensure all users are on the official package. In the meantime,

pacman -Syu python-libusb1

I am having this issue except it is required by libftd3xx.

installing libusb (1.0.23-3) breaks dependency 'libusbx>=1.0.8' required by libftd3xx

For the time being, I just uninstalled libftd3xx.

  • Field changed: Summary ([libusb]1.0.23-3 cannot be installed with python-libusb1 → [python-libusb1] pkgrel was not bumped when moving to community, old version depends on libusbx)
libftd3xx is in the AUR and is thus ineligible for discussion on the bugtracker.

This bug report is NOT about random libusbx issues
