Details

Everytime I try to play a file in rhythmbox, it crashes. In the webpage says this is the most stable rhythmbox release, so I doubt it's a program problem.

This could be related to a problem I was having that seems to be to do with gstreamer. If so, enabling esd (enable sound server startup) in the gnome prefs and restarting gnome might help you - it worked for me. After that the gstreamer-properties app might be helpful if you still have problems - maybe this should go in the gnome menu?

try to run gst-register, rhythmbox crashes when gstreamer hasn't been setup correctly.

I run gst-register, and now rhythmbox doesn't give me any error, but just closes when I run music. In gstreamer-properties I can get sound working.
