Details

When Beryl 0.2.1-1 + Heliodor 0.2.1-1 run under Gnome 2.18, as soon as Beryl starts, all key combinations with the "Alt" key are ignored.

This happens in both architectures (i686, x86_64) under Gnome 2.18.

For example Alt+Tab for task switching is inoperative, Alt+F4 to close a window, Ctrl+Alt+Mouse1 to rotate the cube etc.

The problem remains even if these shortcuts are changed from Beryl Manager, and then re-set with the "Alt" key.

For the record, this also happened with Gnome 2.16.

If it may be of any help, I have also witnessed this problem in Fedora-C6 (x86).

Also the problem does not exist in Gentoo or Debian Unstable (in both architectures).

Works for me.
Make sure your problem is not related to any settings.
Try default beryl settings (i.e. remove ~/.beryl directory).
Do alt-keys work with Metacity?

Alt-keys work fine with Metacity.

I will remove the ~/.beryl directory and see what happens, although this was a new installation, and alt-keys did not work, even before I changed the settings.

Works fine here also, beryl, heliodor, gnome 2.18.1, all packages up2date from repositories.
