DetailsDescription:
Broken audio after pacman -Syu despite rebooting the system. I have a CMI8788 sound card, the ASUS Xonar DX. I have not tested any other sound hardware in my system. Pulseaudio GUI tool doesn't fix the audio and neither does alsamixer. I have the MATE desktop, just in case that matters. Something worthy to note: Usually I adjust my audio through alsamixer; it provides a robust interface to all the sound ports of my sound card. After this update, I notice the default behavior in my sound card has changed: instead of a level of 40 on all ports upon first starting up the system, I now notice that all the ports are set to level 0 except for one port (the rear port), and the one port happens to have an imbalanced level rather than equal on left and right. Steps to reproduce: Pacman -Syu on Oct 13th to version 13.99.2+11+g05f567086-1 I didn't see any other sound packages that were updated recently, so I am pretty confident that pulseaudio and its associated libraries are the culprit here. |
