DetailsDescription:
With the transition to PE build (5.14-2) we're using mingw-w64-gcc to build many of the EXE/DLLs shipped. The explicit strip stage is missing (as per the guidelines [1]), thus the package size has effectively tripled. Note: The package still has ELF files, so the "always add !strip, ... to options" hunk is not applicable. [1] https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/MinGW_package_guidelines Additional info: * package version(s) 5.18-1, but also applicable back to 5.14-2 Steps to reproduce: - pick a random PE DLL check it with ls/file - strip as instructed in the wiki Example numbers from: 5.18-1 ls -lah /usr/lib/wine/ntdll.dll before: 3.4M after: 593K file /usr/lib/wine/ntdll.dll before: PE32+ executable (DLL) (console) x86-64, for MS Windows after: PE32+ executable (DLL) (console) x86-64 (stripped to external PDB), for MS Windows |
