DetailsDescription: Version 455 of the nvidia driver removed support for all except the new RTX 30XX cards. When checking their website, the
suggested driver for older cards is still version 450. Running the 455 driver with an older card lets the system fallback using nouveau. Downgrade to 450 fixes the problem. Additional info: * package version: 455.23.04-1 * link: https://www.nvidia.de/Download/driverResults.aspx/163613/ Steps to reproduce: Upgrading to version 455 using any nvidia card prior to RTX 30XX |

I got a 2080 Ti and nvidia 455.23.04 works just fine so surely the linked page is mistaken in some way. Also, this says otherwise too: http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/455.23.04/README/supportedchips.html

No issues here either with a GTX Titan X. What seems to be the case here is that this driver is considered Beta for other cards, from what I'm seeing. If you use https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us to search with other cards it will list the version as beta.
