net-snmp below version 5.8-11 floods the logs with: ipaddress_linux: could not open /proc/net/if_inet6: No such file or directory if you have IPv6 disabled. You can expect GBs of this line in your snmpd.log Additional info: * package version(s) net-snmp 5.8-6 * config and/or log files etc. not dependant on any config, just disable IPv6 * link to upstream bug report, if any Red Hat has experienced the same, see: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/4213681 Steps to reproduce: Disable IPv6 and see your log continously grow. |
