Since 2.37+18+g9b5d1b2f-2, the rendering has been broken on my system. Please compare the attached screenshots.

Replacing the file /usr/share/fonts/TTF/DejaVuSerif-Italic.ttf with the one from the previous version fixes the problem.

You can reproduce as follows: `pango-view --font italic test.txt`
Replace `italic` with the appropriate string if DejaVu is not the default font on your system. test.txt should contain the letter M.

This issue is obsolete. The bug was in fontforge, not the font, and has since been fixed. The font has also been rebuild since the fontforge release, so should be fine. I'm rebuilding it for other reasons right now but that should make this doubly closed.
