Description:
Video playback stutters and freezes with higher resolution videos in firefox.

amdgpu video driver (RX570)
latest packages as of 3 Aug 2020

Steps to reproduce:
Upgrade to 1.6.10-2 and play a video on firefox, it stutters to the point of being unusable. Downgrading just this package to the prior version makes things work again.

Just wanna add that I have an rx 5700 with amdgpu and this version of libx11 causes complete freezes of the entire system that happen randomly. Screen turns off, only reisub helps. Downgrading libx11 solves this.

Do you still encounter this in 1.6.11? The code involved in that patch should not be relevant if you are not using XIM though.

The code change between pkgrel 1 and 2 should only be relevant if you are using xim. Does disabling input method make a difference, e.g. by clearing XMODIFIER env or stopping input method? If it does, what input method are you using?

And does 1.6.11 make any difference? What about compiling each version of the package locally.
