Description:
After flashing installation ISO to usb stick, and booting off said usb stick on the LG Gram 17 2020, the system will hang indefinitely when attempting to shutdown. Additional info: Although I have titled this as if it is particular to the ISO file, the same problem also exists once the operating system is installed. Log files and other information related to the installed OS (not the ISO environment) can be found at my forum post https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=257332 Final lines of log output of shutdown while in the ISO install environment are as follows: Failure to communicate with kernel device-mapper driver Check that device-mapper is available in the kernel Incompatible libdevmapper 1.02.170 (2020-03-24) and kernel driver (unknown version) Command failed umount: can't unmount /dev/loop0: Invalid argument umount: can't unmount /oldrun/archiso/cowspace: Invalid argument umount: can't unmount /oldrun/archiso/bootmnt: Device or resource busy [57.000689] kvm: exiting hardware virtualization It would be difficult to give full shutdown log here as I gathered this output with my smartphone camera. Steps to reproduce: On an LG Gram 17 2020, create a new partition in Windows. Disable hibernate, fastboot, and secure boot in the Windows settings and UEFI settings. Install the iso file, and flash the iso file to a usb drive. Shut down from Windows and boot into the usb drive. While running live Arch install environment, or after installation, run shutdown, reboot, or halt. |
