Details
Description:
After upgrading to package version 11.0.2-1 there is no nsight executable in the /opt/cuda/bin directory. Additional info: The documentation on nvidias website states it should be there (so it hasn't been removed or anything), see here: https://docs.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-toolkit-release-notes/index.html (at this time the release notes are for CUDA Toolkit v11.0.194). Steps to reproduce: install cuda package 11.0.2-1 |

Well there's now /opt/cuda/nsight_compute and
/opt/cuda/nsight_systems and they both have binaries. Give them a
try. If you want one of the nsights to be symlinked from bin/ you
can attach a patch here after testing that it works fine for you
and I'll build a new package.

Thanks for the reply. Yes systems and compute are there. They are
the profiling tools. But what is missing compared to the former
versions is the nsight ide.

I honestly can't find nsight in the cuda sources. Please check out
the package and see whether it's somewhere I'm missing. Cuda is a
super large source package with many subpackages so it could
actually be easy to miss. Maybe nvidia started distributing nsight
separately.

You are correct, its not in the package anymore. The Release Notes
state it is there, so that doesn't seem to be correct. They only
provide plugins for eclipse now instead of nsight. I guess this
can be closed then. Sry not a bug in Arch.
