Details**Description**:
The upowerd (/usr/lib/upowerd) binary will fail once the necessary libraries are not available, and therefore force a crash dump. Additionally, a symlink here is wrong, and needs to be corrected in the build. Missing dependencies in the upower package: - libimobiledevice (>=1.3.0) - libplist (>= 2.2.0) Wrong symlink: - libimobiledevice.so.6 should be libimobiledevice-1.0.so.6 **Additional info**: * at least upower version 0.99.11-3 and later Steps to reproduce: - Install upower - Make sure libimobiledevice is not installed (as it is not a dependency for upower package) - Reboot - Observe crash in "systemctl status upower" and missing battery icon in GNOME top bar |

Reason for closing: Not a bug
Additional comments about closing: libimobiledevice *is* a dependency of upower. Deliberately breaking your installation is not a bug.
