Even though my printer (HP LaserJet 1018s) needs a plugin shipped by hplip-plugin (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/hplip-plugin/), the newest version of hplip turns off plugin requirement for most printers, including my printer. This issue is also tracked here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1848332 https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/1883898 Fedora has a patch which fixes the issue: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/hplip/blob/master/f/hplip-revert-plugins.patch. Please consider applying this patch or downgrade to 3.20.5, such that printing works again for users owning one of the affected printers. Steps to reproduce: Just turn on the printer. No firmware is being transferred to the printer and consequently printing does not work. |
