When pointer was hovered over where text input box *should* be, cursor changed to text input cursor. Was able to login, and run programs using i3 hotkeys, but no slick greeter, polybar or wallpaper
Upon downgrading to kernel 5.6.15 display worked normally again.

How did you just update to 5.7.2? Current is 5.7.4/5.

I originally did pacman -Syu on 2020/06/12 That was when it stopped. I then rolled back the entire system to 2020/06/11 and it worked fine. Left it alone until today, then updated again (pacman -Syu) and same problem. Then just rolled back kernel to 5.6.15 and all fine again. Currently on linux-lts.
(using xorg and grub bootloader, if this helps)

Can you confirm this also affect linux 5.7.5 in testing?

No, my most recent 'pacman -S linux' updates to 5.7.4 Can confirm for this version.

Display still not working after updating to 5.7.5 on 2020-06-24

I can confirm this bug on an ASUS Chromebook C301SA (TERRA13). Downgrading to kernel 5.4.12 works (I hadn't updated in a while), while the current kernels do not.

Is the issue present using linux-mainline 5.8-rc7?
Comment by Eamonn (EamonnG) - Monday, 27 July 2020, 19:26 GMT
pacman -S gives me 5.7.10
The issue is still present. Downgrade to kernel 5.6.15 works. I'm using a Lenovo Ideapad 110S 11IBR

You can obtain linux-mainline from [1] or [2].
See [3] for i915 bugs. This needs to be fixed upstream. Once there is a patch available the package maintainers could apply it.

You can seek help on the forums, mailing list, IRC or other support channels to help diagnose the issue.
