DetailsDescription:
There's a new arch package of fontconfig (fontconfig-2:2.13.91+48+gfcb0420-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst) that includes the change at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/fontconfig/fontconfig/-/commit/fcb042028126d79ea5a5fa015b2b034b98656e73 On my minimal system that only has minimal fonts including ttf-bitstream-vera (fc-list output attached), this means the ui no longer renders with proportional fonts. Looking at what's on the system, mplayer->ttf-font and I must have chosen ttf-bitstream-vera to provide it. If fontconfig isn't going to allow it for rendering, I would suggest we no longer consider ttf-bitstream-vera to provide ttf-font. That would fix new installs, but I don't know if it will re-present the choice during upgrade if it's unsatisfied. Downgrading fontconfig to fontconfig-2:2.13.91+24+g75eadca-2 or installing ttf-dejavu correctly renders the ui once again. |
