Description:

Trying to use gparted fails with polkit set up and all of gparted's [opt] dependencies.
It fails since it explicitly needs a GRAPHICAL polkit agent, and explicitly disables the one built into polkit.

This package should depend on something like `polkit-graphical-agent`, and all agents should have a `provide=` entry for this too (or something along these lines).

As-is right now, installing the package won't really work since it's missing a dependency ("any graphical polkit agent"). There's quite a few options that work for this.

This is also what upstream states, this is a necessary dependency: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gparted/-/issues/104#note_842054

Additional info:
* package version(s) 1.1.0-1

Reason for closing:  Not a bug
Additional comments about closing:  Most desktop environments provide a graphical polkit agent, custom ones need to be configured properly.

Since current package includes `--enable-xhost-root` which should solve the issue according to the upstream comment linked above, is this issue still valid?

We can't add "graphical polkit agent" as a dependency, because you have to autostart a specific agent in your graphical environment to be able to use it. It's up to the user to install and autostart a graphical polkit agent if their desktop environment don't provide it already.

So I would close this as "not a bug".
