Description:
partclone.imager does not work properly. It always reads zero image size. Which makes it impossible to create a partition image for the imager schema.

Additional info:
* package v0.3.12 version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.
* link to upstream bug report (https://github.com/Thomas-Tsai/partclone/commit/5c495363e8de2fb9a4020636766977b4d1f2fae1)

Steps to reproduce:

[root@me ~]# partclone.imager -c -s /dev/nvme0n1p1 > /home/backup/nvme0n1p1.img
Partclone v0.3.12 http://partclone.org
Starting to clone device (/dev/nvme0n1p1) to image (-)
Reading Super Block
Calculating bitmap... Please wait...
done!
File system: raw
Device size: 0 Byte = 0 Blocks
Space in use: 0 Byte = 0 Blocks
Free Space: 0 Byte = 0 Blocks
Block size: 512 Byte
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

The problem was resolved in version 0.3.14, but on package repository is old version 0.3.12.

I've tried 0.3.14 (unstable) but that doesn't fix your error. 0.3.14 also has broken xfs support, which is probably why it's still in unstable. Arch packages latest stable. If 0.3.14 did fix the issue I'd consider pulling it in, but it looks like that will just introduce a second issue; no xfs. Are you sure your nvme0n1p1 is an unsupported file system? If it's supported you should use something like partclone.vfat (partclone.$fstype) and I can confirm that works with my boot partition.

I recompiled partclone 0.3.14 on debian. All tests pass without a problem, why do you think xfs - does not work?

Referring to the use of partclone.imager, if it worked correctly it would simplify my scripts. Currently working on the automation of creating and restoring copies of systems. To work on older partclone I have added a workaround https://github.com/karoiz/autorestore/commit/412f5339a66342253602198e7833f1221399c0df

As soon as the new partclone is integrated, my script could be "nicer" :-)

I'm not sure what debian has to do with Arch. Please try compiling on Arch and observe any issues with the "unstable" version. I think you'll find this doesn't help but if you want to propose a fix to the Arch package please feel free and I will verify it.
