DetailsDescription:
seshat (the client-side encrypted search component) does not work on 1.6.4-1. Upon starting riot-desktop, the following is shown: Seshat unexpected error: Error: /tmp/.org.chromium.Chromium.SQfXhB: undefined symbol: _ZN2v816FunctionTemplate3NewEPNS_7IsolateEPFvRKNS_20FunctionCallbackInfoINS_5ValueEEEENS_5LocalIS4_EENSA_INS_9SignatureEEEiNS_19ConstructorBehaviorENS_14SideEffectTypeE at process.func [as dlopen] (electron/js2c/asar.js:140:31) at Object.Module._extensions..node (internal/modules/cjs/loader.js:1034:18) at Object.func [as .node] (electron/js2c/asar.js:149:18) at Module.load (internal/modules/cjs/loader.js:815:32) at Module._load (internal/modules/cjs/loader.js:727:14) at Function.Module._load (electron/js2c/asar.js:738:28) at Module.require (internal/modules/cjs/loader.js:852:19) at require (internal/modules/cjs/helpers.js:74:18) at Object.<anonymous> (/usr/lib/riot/app.asar/node_modules/matrix-seshat/lib/index.js:15:16) at Module._compile (internal/modules/cjs/loader.js:967:30) Searching in encrypted rooms predictably returns no results. I'm not sure when it stopped working, but it might be related to the recent switch to Electron 9? Perhaps something needs to be rebuilt. Additional info: * package version(s): 1.6.4-1 Steps to reproduce: 1. Install `riot-desktop`. 2. Run it and observe the above log message. 3. Try searching in an encrypted room. The search returns no results. |

Haven't taken a deep dive in the code, but I suspect it has to do with Arch using electron 9 for longer, while upstream has only recently switched to it.
So some ABI mismatch methinks. At least it seems to just work (TM) for now.
