It is great that the default Electron package has been bumped to 9.0, but not all apps are compatible with this yet! Much like for electron[4567] we urgently need an electron8 package to come back to support packages that that simply won't work with Electron9 yet. I'm getting segfaults in some and others simply won't compile.
This task depends upon

Reason for closing:  Not a bug
Additional comments about closing:  AUR is unsupported. If AUR packages need it, add it to the AUR

What about giving actual application names instead of "some" and "others"

Antonio we're talking about AUR packages here, which have always relied on the system Electron packages so they don't have to bundle Electron with all the heft and security issue that brings with it.

I've only just started rebuilding AUR stuff, and already `mattermost-desktop` segfaults even after successful build against Electron 9 and `marktext` won't build at all. I have more on my list but this isn't a good start and I don't really feel like compiling and maintaining an `electron8` package in the AUR to fill the gap when this has traditionally been handled by [community].
