`xdg-desktop-portal` is required for screen sharing with Firefox (definitely is required for Wayland, I've no idea about Xorg).
It should be listed as an optional dependency.

Additional info:
* package version(s): 76.0.1-1

Screen sharing is not supported on Wayland at all.

Screen sharing is supported on Wayland thanks to pipewire, see for example [0].

Window screen sharing currently doesn't work with firefox from Arch Linux repository, but it works using [1].

According to [2] build flag `RTC_USE_PIPEWIRE=true` is required to use xdg-desktop-portal based screen casting.

This is a no-go as long as it requires massive patches.

All the patches required for screen sharing via pipewire have landed upstream and are shipped since Firefox 84.0. Coincidentally, Firefox 84.0 seems to default to Wayland instead of X11 which breaks screen sharing unless `xdg-desktop-portal` is also installed. Therefore, I agree that `xdg-desktop-portal` should be listed as an optional dependency for Firefox 84.0 and above.

I second that. Most likely the Wayland WM or DM will provide the dependency, but e.g. sway does not.
