Details

After the recent Berkley DB upgrade to 2.5, mplayer is broken

[abcd@it-laptop ~]$ pacman -Q mplayer db
mplayer 1.0rc1-4
db 4.5.20-1
[abcd@laptop ~]$ mplayer dvd://1
mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libdb-4.4.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[abcd@laptop ~]$ ldd /usr/bin/mplayer
<snip>
libdb-4.4.so => not found

Same with package "cvs".

DIRTY (I said DIRTY) workaround (works for cvs, mplayer, I don't know):

cd /usr/lib
ln -s libdb-4.5.so libdb-4.4.so
