DetailsThere is a known memory leak affecting xfdesktop 4.14.2 which has been fixed upstream but not yet incorporated into a new release. Please apply the following patch to 4.14.2 to fix the leak.
On my machine the memory RSS usage of xfdesktop balloons to have 800MB in 24 hours using 4.12.2-1 from [extra] but stays around 200MB after days of uptime with the patch. https://github.com/xfce-mirror/xfdesktop/commit/f3f9bdb5a9162480ba1a892d37859321f37c4d51 Per a private email with Jan Ziak, it is safe to cherry pick as requested: "Yes, it is safe to cherry pick the patch and use it with 4.14.2. I am applying this patch to vanilla xfdesktop 4.14.2 which I am running on my Gentoo machine. Sincerely, Jan." |
