Quote from running "pacman -Syu" on a system with the testing repos enabled and where both ovmf 1:202002-1 and qemu-headless-arch-extra 4.2.0-2 is installed:

error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
edk2-ovmf: /usr/share/qemu/edk2-i386-code.fd exists in filesystem (owned by qemu-headless-arch-extra)
edk2-ovmf: /usr/share/qemu/edk2-i386-secure-code.fd exists in filesystem (owned by qemu-headless-arch-extra)
edk2-ovmf: /usr/share/qemu/edk2-i386-vars.fd exists in filesystem (owned by qemu-headless-arch-extra)
edk2-ovmf: /usr/share/qemu/edk2-x86_64-code.fd exists in filesystem (owned by qemu-headless-arch-extra)
edk2-ovmf: /usr/share/qemu/edk2-x86_64-secure-code.fd exists in filesystem (owned by qemu-headless-arch-extra)
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

The same file conflicts will also occur if qemu-arch-extra 4.2.0-2 is installed.

Note that the qemu-arch-extra and qemu-headless-arch-extra ship lots of additional firmware images besides the ones causing the file conflicts described above.

edk2-ovmf 202002-2 seems to fix the original issue for me.
