DetailsYou probably already heard of Solid, the KDE 4 hardware backend. In order to support that in Arch, we need to decide between two possible solutions:
1) Switch over to NetworkManager. There is already a package for it and I'm using it for a longer time already. It works fine. 2) Provide a Solid backend for the network part. Since we are using another network configuration as almost every other dist, that means we need to develop such a backend by our own. This job is not really urgent, but we need to think about it as soon as possible. I'm at your service as a KDE developer for future questions;) |

If someone wants to contribute an Arch specific backend to solid, they're free to.
