The systemd service /usr/lib/systemd/system/pound.service uses DynamicUser=yes and RuntimeDirectory=pound. ExecStart gives pound the parameter -p /run/pound.pid and PIDFile uses the same Path. Pound fails to start with Create "/run/pound.pid": Read-only file system Additional info: * package version(s): pound 2.8-1 Steps to reproduce: # systemctl start pound Job for pound.service failed because the service did not take the steps required by its unit configuration. See "systemctl status pound.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details. pound logs the following to pound.log: Mar 18 02:04:03 rpx-dmz-01 pound[1843]: starting... Mar 18 02:04:03 rpx-dmz-01 pound[1844]: Create "/run/pound.pid": Read-only file system Steps to fix: Specifying "/run/pound/pound.pid" in ExecStart and PIDFile in /usr/lib/systemd/system/pound.service works as intended. |
